College of Education (CoE) was hailed champion in the Modern Dance Competition during the Silliman Portal Experience, the All-University Acquaintance Party held at Langheim road on July 20.
CoE bested 11 other contestants. “The dancers from the College of Education did not only want to win, but also wanted to enjoy… The friendship they made… Not only to compete, but to represent the College of Education,” said CoE Vice-Governor John Christian Lado said.
John Carlos Cornelia, first year Physical Education major, said “We clearly delivered the message. Not only was it a dance or another hip-hop competition, but it was a story of how one person would stand out from the rest and he could handle himself from the pressure and other difficulties in our community.”
He also addressed the LGBTQ+ community which he observed has become a trend in the past months.”We are all still equal human beings.”
Lado thanked God, CoE student officers, faculty and staff, and students who gave them financial and moral support.
