Silliman University’s first Commuter Lounge opened at the 3rd floor of Oriental Hall (OH) last Aug. 24., furnished with beds, shower cubicles, comfort rooms, and lockers.
Commuter Lounge is for student commuters who travel on a day to day basis from their respective houses, apartments, and boarding houses to Silliman.
For P25 per hour, the place is available for them to relax, sleep or even take a shower in their vacant time.
Biena Tubio, a Grade 12 STEAM student said, “It’s nice to have a room for people who live far away from Silliman especially for me since I live more or less fifteen minutes away from Silliman with no traffic.”
The opening ceremony was part of the Office of Student Services (OSS) Thanksgiving Fellowship and Grace Awarding. The lounge is open for services from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
